Oddbody Entertainment is bringing its new music room tour to the UK on April 24.
The tour is a one-off event for the first time, and will be followed by a second tour in 2019.
Oddbody CEO, Ben Miller, confirmed the news to MusicRadar in an email interview.
“The idea for Oddbody Music Room was to get a band from the UK to come over and play at the Royal Albert Hall and that’s exactly what we’re doing with this one-night-only show.
We’ve got a band called ‘The Dead’ from Liverpool and we’ve got ‘Babes in Toyland’ from Birmingham who play a new song.
We’re getting some great people in there who we hope will be able to come back over again for the next tour.”
The tour will take place at Oddbody Arena, Birmingham and take place on April 26.
Miller also explained that Oddbody is still in talks with the bands involved, including The Dead, but that they are in talks for another tour.
“We’ve got another tour coming up in 2019 that will be happening in Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow and that is a two-day-long tour that we’re going to be doing with some of our own bands that are playing on stage,” Miller said.
“There are some other big bands that have already booked shows for the tour, but it’s still not confirmed who will be playing.”
It was originally scheduled to take place in January, but was pushed back due to the holiday season and Miller explained that he was not sure if the tour would be possible due to weather issues.
The Oddbody team are keen to keep the UK busy during the holiday period, and Miller is hopeful that the band will be back in action in the months to come.
“We want the UK’s population to enjoy our tour, and hopefully there are some new bands coming to the country that are doing amazing shows, which will be a great way to do that.”
The Oddbody tour will kick off with the band’s new single ‘Babaes in Toysland’, which is a remix of ‘Waves’, a track originally released on Oddbody Records.
The band will then play two songs from their upcoming debut album, ‘The Future Is Now’, which will also be released on April 28.
Oddbmx are hoping to play new music and have a live performance of a song from the album that will come out on April 30.
“The main thing is that we want to do a live show, and we think that’s the biggest thing that we can do,” Miller explained.
“So we’re hoping that we’ll be able do that at the end of the tour.
We don’t want to miss any of the opportunities that the UK has for great music and we want people to get into that world and get into it.”
Oddbody are keen that people have an opportunity to come and watch the band perform.
“It’s a lot of fun and we’re looking forward to it, and it’ll be great to see some new music out on the stage, hopefully we can put that out there as well,” Miller added.
“This tour is about having fun, it’s not about making a profit, it has nothing to do with booking shows, it is just an opportunity for us to have a good time and play music.
That’s the best way to make a living.
