We’re in this Together as Americans recover from the economic devastation of Hurricane Harvey.
The US economy is slowing as its economy falters amid the political and economic turmoil of the Trump era, but we’re in it together as a nation and we are doing well, the president said at a news conference Friday.
We’re in the middle of a recovery.
It’s the longest stretch of recovery since the Great Depression, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
That’s why we’re so grateful for the help of our amazing citizens who have stepped up and contributed so much to our economy.
The White House is encouraging the public to share photos and videos of themselves taking pictures of themselves in the streets and parks, as well as taking selfies and taking video.
The President also offered his condolences to families of those killed or injured in the storm.
“I have no words,” he said.
“My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of all who lost loved ones.”
